Champagne stoppers

With sparkling wines, maintaining pressure is essential. A good champagne stopper seals the bottle airtight, preserving the bubbles and aromas.

1. Place the stopper straight onto the neck of the bottle.
2. Push the stopper down while folding down the side brackets so that they click under the bottle rim .
3. Check that the stopper is securely attached – it should not wobble or turn.
4. Store the bottle upright in the refrigerator so that the internal pressure remains the same.
   

With this closure, champagne or prosecco generally remains sparkling and fresh for 1 to 2 days , without loss of flavour or elegance.

What is the difference between a wine stopper and a champagne stopper?
